The company was founded in November 1997 by the transformation of the joint-stock company CHEMSTAV a.s. into CHEMOSVIT FINCHEM, a.s. After the changes in the shareholders portfolio, the company changed its business name into FINCHEM, a.s. On November 19, 2008, the company merged with its 100% subsidiary FINCHEM INVEST, a.s.

Since May 2008, the Finchem Group have undergone several changes. Among the most significant is the extension of the Group by CHEMOSVIT ENERGOCHEM, a.s. and SBS CHEMOSVIT, s.r.o. In addition to these two companies, FINCHEM, a.s. is the majority owner of shares of CHEDOS, a.s. and SKICHEM, a.s.
